The Pochury Wrestling Asssociation (PWA) organized and conducted its maiden wrestling championship cum training at Meluri on February 26.
According to a press release, a total of 13 male wrestlers from three areas viz. Meluri, Apoksah and Phoyisha competed where Dakoye Sharu of Phoyisha emerged as the Champion followed by Hamtepa Chutseh of Apoksah and Kutsilo of Phoyisha as 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.

Special Guest Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, MLA & Advisor, NRE & NSDMA Govt. of Nagaland in his speech acknowledged the formation of Pochury Wrestling Association and encouraged the wrestlers to inculcate sportsmanship through perseverance and discipline.

Earlier, the program was chaired by Er, Joyson Yitsuthu where Rev. Muloute Nyuwi pronounced the invocation prayer and the greetings was delivered by Shiekhutho, President, Sports Association Meluri District (SAMD).

Sipichu Pfithu, President PWA in his presidential address highlighted the formation and activities of the Association and pledged for promotion of wrestling in Pochury and beyond. Further, Kaison Pfithu, General Secretary PWA expressed a word of gratitude.
