The last match of the round of 16 in FIFA World Cup 2022 played between Portugal and Switzerland was comfortably won by Portugal by a margin of 6-1.

Ramos started ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo as the centre-forward.
Ramos opened the scoring in the 17th minute when he collected a ball from Joao Felix and from a very tight angle, send a thundering shot to the near corner The shot was so powerfully struck that Swiss Keeper Somer could not react.
Shaqiri nearly equalised for Switzerland but his free kick was pushed for a corner by Portugese keeper Diego Costa.
Portugal doubled the score when veteran defender Pepe rose high to thump in a corner by Bruno Fernandes.

Portugal went into the break with a commanding 2-0 lead over the Swiss.
Ramos got his second goal and Portugal’s third when he turned in a pass by Diogo Dalot.
Portugal scored their fourth goal when Joao Felix made an assist for Guerriero to send a powerful shot into the Swiss net.
In the 58th minute, Switzerland finally found the net when Manuel Akanji met with a deflected Shaqiri cross to tap the ball into the net.

Ramos scored his hattrick through another assist by Joao Felix which he lofted above the incoming Swiss keeper Somer in a one-on-one situation.

Cristiano Ronaldo was introduced in the 73rd minute amid loud cheers from the crowd. He was handed the captain’s armband by Pepe as soon as he entered the field. He found the back of the net with a powerful left shot, but he was unlucky as he was offside.
Rafael Leao scored Portugal’s sixth goal in extra time with a well-placed curling shot to the far corner beyond the reach of a motionless Swiss keeper Somer.
Portugal recorded a thumping victory as they progress to the quarterfinals where they will take on Morocco.
