Poshan kits launched in Mon

MLA and advisor for Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak launched Poshan Kit in Mon district on June 20 at Konyak Union Office, Mon Town.

Speaking at the launching programme, the legislator thanked all the sponsors, supporters, and the department for the initiative taken to launch the Poshan Kit in Mon. He said that Poshan Kit has been initiated to improve the nutrition levels of children, adolescent girls and pregnant women and lactating mothers. He encouraged the beneficiaries to use it for the benefit of their health.

Secretary Social Welfare, Bodeno S Colo expressed gratitude to the UNISED and Union Minister for the support. She also acknowledged the MP Rajya Sabha, Phangnon Konyak for the support and appealed to all the stakeholders to continue to support a healthy society, healthy community.

Deputy Commissioner Mon Wennyei Konyak thanked the department for the initiative in launching Poshan Kits, where, he said Mon is one of the districts with high malnutrition. He expressed his gratitude to the UNISED for their support and requested to continue to support in the coming days too. He appealed to the beneficiaries not to misuse this Poshan Kits, but use it for their health and their children. He also encouraged Anganwadi workers and helpers to follow the instructions given by the government, be responsible and dedicated in performing their duties.

Vikas Mar, Program Manager and Abishek, Program Manager from unit of Science and Educational Development, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh highlighted that they are giving 21650 Poshan KitS to Mon District.

The programme was chaired by director Social Welfare Tosheli Zhimomi. She highlighted that there are 403 Anganwadi centre in Mon District with 97 in Aboi, 73 in Mon, 55 in Phomching, 57 in Wakching, 49 in Tizit and 72 in Tobu. 270 beneficiaries took part in the programme, 15 each from 18 Anganwadi centres at Mon Town. She also said that the Poshan Kits will be distributed in all the districts in Nagaland. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by deputy director Social Welfare, T Neingusalie.
