Poshan Maah observed under BMMU-Kohima

The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) organised a one day block level Poshan Maah activity with the theme ‘Harvest of Health’ on November 8 at Old NST Kohima.

Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) is an annual nutrition-focused campaign celebrated from September in India as part of the “Poshan Abhiyaan” (National Nutrition Mission) launched by the Government of India in 2018. The main objectives of the campaign is to promote nutritional well-being among pregnant women and lactating mothers, adolescent girls, children (especially under 6 years), families and communities.

The focus is on ensuring that every individual receives adequate nutrition for a healthy life and preventing malnutrition and anemia.

The 11 mobilised NSRLM Village Level Organisations (VLOs) under the three villages of RD-Block Kohima viz, Kohima Village, Chedema Village and Chedema Model Village took part in the event. Fruits, cereals, herbs, vegetables, various traditional tea with nutritional & medicinal values, organically made fruit juices, local snacks etc were put on display cum sales.

Earlier in the day, Noumvúzolie Sachú, VDB Secretary of Kohima Village, inaugurated the sales day.
