The district level launching programme of Poshan Pakhwada 2023 in collaboration with Sangsangnyu Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) project was held at CKS Hall, Tuensang on Tuesday, a DIPR report stated.

Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang district, Nokchasashi, NCS said that malnourishment in children will become a thing of the past with departments such as the School Education Department and Social Welfare Department implementing schemes like the mid-day meals in schools and providing nutritional food at Anganwadi Centres for children.

He further said Poshan Pakhwada is a fourteen-day long programme where the Social Welfare Department will be conducting different activities at the district, block and village levels.

He called upon all the convergent departments and the community leaders to give their cooperation for the successful implementation of the programme in the district. The DC also administered the Poshan Pledge and officially launched Poshan Pakhwada 2023.

A brief note on Poshan Pakhwada was presented by Natichumdam. Welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by DPO (ICDS), T. Longlang Luckpan and District Coordinator, PMMVY Tuensang L. Tonen Chang respectively, while the programme was chaired by Hanglenchila.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating the 5th Poshan Pakhwada from 20 March to 3 April 2023 across the nation will celebrate. The Pakhwada aims to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition and promote healthy eating habits.
