Post-election politics: Student leaders expelled for organising Common Public Platform

Kohima: A circular from KTKK on 25 March stated that as per its resolution dated 18 February 2023, Kato Yepthomi (KASU President), Niuka Awomi (WSSU Representative), Chophika Chophy (KASU Advisor) and Vivito Yepthomi ignored and acted against the KTKK resolution due to which they have been expelled.

In another post-election politics, three student leaders and one other belonging to Khaghaboto area under Niuland district were expelled for organising a ‘Common Public Platform’ during the recently concluded Nagaland Assembly Election 2023.

Khaghaboto Tokukujo Kukami Kuqhakulu (KTKK), the area GB organisation, expelled Kato Yepthomi (President, Khaghaboto Area Students Union – KASU), Niuka Awomi (WSSU Representative), Chophika Chophy (KASU Advisor) and Vivito Yepthomi for ignoring and acting against the KTKK resolution dated 18 February 2023, a circular from KTKK on 25 March stated.

It further said that no organisations will be allowed to include or employ the services of the expelled persons for any purpose.

The circular further directed the KASU vice president to oversee the students union and take charge till a new president is elected.
