A farewell program in honour of the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief (Power), Er. Moa Aier was held on May 31 in the conference hall of the Power Department, Kohima. The program was attended by K.G Kenye, Minister Power & Parliamentary Affairs and Asangla Imti IAS, Secretary (Power), informed a press release by the Department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Power on behalf of the State Government expressed deep gratitude to the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief for rendering 35 years of exceptional service to the State. Recalling the journey of Er. Moa Aier, he described him as a dedicated and a committed officer who was passionate about his career and profession. Kenye acknowledged him for his immense contribution to the State and for bringing pride to the Department and the State and wished him all the best in his future endeavors.
In her speech, Secretary (Power) Imti said that farewell programmes were an occasion for retrospecting and commemorating the achievements of a Government officer and shared that Er. Moa Aier has contributed immensely for the Department and the State. She described him as a level headed individual who provided the most important insight and solutions to complicated issues. She added that during his tenure he had initiated and completed many projects for the State and has taken forward Reforms and Restructuring of Power Sector in Nagaland. She also accredited him for garnering teamwork in the Department which epitomizes true leadership and then wished him all the best in his future endeavors.
Er. Wabangmeren Jamir, the incoming Engineer-in-Chief (Power) while fondly recollecting his years of service with Er. Moa Aier, the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief, described him as a visionary leader and an individual with a cutting edge mentality. He accredited Er. Moa Aier for steering the Department throughout difficult times. He highlighted the contribution of the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief for the Department and wished him a bright endeavor ahead.
Er. Kasho Chishi, Chief Engineer(T&G) congratulated the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief for completing 35 years of sincere and dedicated service. He acknowledged the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief for actively taking forward power projects in the State and said that he was instrumental in power sector reforms and restructuring. He said that the legacy and benchmark that Er. Moa Aier has set will be taken forward in best possible way and wished him a happy retired life.
Speaking on behalf of Association of Power Engineers Nagaland (APEN), General Secretary APEN & Executive Engineer, Generation Division Kohima, Er. Myingthungo Ngullie thanked the Almighty for blessing the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief with good health and wisdom to lead the Department. He said that under the leadership of the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief, Federation of Nagaland State Engineering Service Associations (FONSESA) was able to celebrate the first World Engineer’s day on 4th March 2021. He thanked him for his contribution towards the welfare of the officers and the Department and for being a good mentor and instilling a sense of hard work and integrity to serve the people.

While elaborating the profound impact the outgoing Engineer-in chief had on the life of the officers and staff, he said that an era has ended but a new chapter will begin and wished him the best in his future endeavor.
In his farewell speech, Er. Moa Aier, the outgoing Engineer-in-Chief encouraged all the Officers to speak up and sensitize the people to help them change their attitude and mindset so that development can reach the people. He encouraged the officers to be steadfast and be well equipped as the coming days in the power sector will be challenging. He thanked all the officers and staff for their continued support throughout his tenure.
The farewell program was chaired by Er. Lobosang Jamir, Addl. Chief Engineer (D&R), vote of thanks by Er. T. Lithrichum Sangtam, Superintending Engineer (Generation) invocation by Er. Moameren, Superintending Engineer, and a special number by Keneinguzo Usou.
