In a significant initiative, the Power Department conducted an extensive and constructive Orientation-cum-Training on 11–20 January for all newly recruited officers under the Department.
The programme was aimed to familiarise and acquaint the recruits with the functioning and objectives of the Department, stated a DIPR report.
The newly recruited officers consist of four Sub Divisional Officers and 35 Junior Engineers.
During the formal programme, Er Moa Aier, Engineer-in-Chief (Power), encouraged the officers to be sincere and responsible in their duties to deliver quality service and also emphasised the importance of revenue collection.
Er Tiameren Walling, Chief Engineer (D&R), asked the officers to be ready to face the challenges while discharging their duties and maintain utmost integrity while handling revenue matters.
The Chief Engineer (T&G), Er Penrithung Yanthan also encouraged the newly recruited officers to make good use of the Orientation-cum-Training programme in order to strengthen the Department and deliver the best service to the public.
During the Orientation-cum-Training, the team had a field visit to some important Power Transmission and Generation Stations. They were also taken to working divisions to familiarise them with Operation & Maintenance and Revenue activities.
On the concluding day of the programme, the newly recruited officers shared their experiences and a closing remark was delivered by Engineer-in-Chief Moa Aier.
Er Aier congratulated the newly recruited officers for completing the Orientation-cum-Training programme.
He also encouraged the recruits to maintain integrity and credibility and not give up as they would be facing real challenges ahead of their service.
