A prayer room was inaugurated at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) on July 26 to provide a quiet space for spiritual comfort to patients, their families, and caregivers. The facility has been donated by Wabang Kichu, Councillor of Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), as part of the silver jubilee commemoration of the “Christmas with Patients” initiative.
The initiative, started 25 years ago by Wabang Kichu, was aimed at spreading Christmas cheer among hospital patients by sharing simple refreshments such as coffee, fruits, and doughnuts. The newly established prayer room built on this spirit of compassion, will be open to people of all faiths.
The inaugural programme was led by Wabangnaro Pongen, Government-nominated Councillor of MMC, and attended by the Medical Superintendent, hospital doctors, staff, chaplain, and well-wishers. Temsüchuba, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung, formally inaugurated the prayer room. A dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev Chuba, Pastor of MTBA.
