The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and the Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, have condemned the killing of the five Indian Army soldiers by terrorists in Badnota, Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir on 8th July 2024.
“The attack on a convoy of Army personnel in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir by terrorists is a cowardly act that deserves condemnation and firm counter-measures”, the President said in a post on X. She also expressed her sympathies for the families of the brave martyrs and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Five Indian Army personnel were killed and five were injured on Monday afternoon when terrorists ambushed the patrolling army truck they were travelling on.
Expressing anguish over the deaths, Rajnath Singh said on X that counter terrorist operations were underway in bid to “usher in peace and order in the region.” He also extended deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the brave soldiers.
“I pray for a speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries in this dastardly terror attack,” the Union Minister added in a post on X.
