The Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima has informed that priority would be given to heavy vehicles ferrying essential commodities to ply from Chathe Bridge (Patkai Jn.) to New Chümoukedima, on the NH-29 four lane road on an hourly basis “depending on the structural integrity of the road and weather conditions”.
Further, only light vehicles would be allowed to ply from Chümoukedima Town (Old Check Gate) to New Chümoukedima via Old Chümoukedima Village Road.
The DC stated that the movement of vehicles shall be regulated by the Traffic Police, Chümoukedima.
The Travel Advisory was issued to ensure smooth movement of essential commodities and commuters travelling from Chümoukedima to Kohima and vice versa in the wake of the recent land slide/land erosion that has affected the NH-29.
