Stating from academic year 2024, all private schools in Nagaland must fill at least 25 percent of a class strength with students from weaker sections of the neighbourhood, the Directorate of School Education notified.

DoSE stated that the process of admission under ‘Nagaland Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2016’ must be strictly implemented by the schools.

As per the order, private schools will admit students belonging to ‘disadvantaged groups and weaker sections’ free of charges. The fees for such students will be reimbursed to the schools by the Government.

The scheme is applicable for only till Class 8.

1. For Schools having Pre-School Classes (Pre-KG, LKG, UKG) as entry level: Admission in each class from Pre-KG to Class 5

2. For Schools having Class 1 as entry level: Admission in each class from Class 1 to Class 8

3. For Schools having Class 6 as entry level: Admission in each class from Class 6 to Class 8
