Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has won a seat in the Parliament after voters in Wayanad Parliamentary Constituency gave her a thumping victory in the Lok Sabha Bye election. She won by over 4 lakh.
This is the first election, Congress’ General Secretary has contested. The Wayanad seat was let go of by Rahul Gandhi earlier this year as he retained Raebareli PC.
After winning the election on 23rd November 2024, Vadra expressed her gratitude to the electorates in a post on X platform and said “I look forward to being your voice in Parliament!” She also thanked all who helped in the campaign as well as her family. She especially thanked Rahul Gandhi for “showing me the way and having my back, always!”
Meanwhile, Gandhi affirmed his believe that his sister “will lead with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication to transform our cherished Wayanad into a beacon of progress and prosperity.”
