Prize distribution ceremony held for state-level Horticulture exhibition-cum-competition

The prize distribution ceremony for the State Level Exhibition-cum-Competition of Horticulture Produce was held on December 4 at Hortiscape, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, Kohima. The event began with a welcome address by Ayieno Hibo, Director of Horticulture, followed by a speech from the Special Guest, Akumla Chuba, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Horticulture Department.

In her address, Akumla highlighted the theme “Flowers and Vegetables”, noting that beauty and nourishment go hand in hand. She appreciated the hard work of the participants and encouraged everyone to bring beauty to their communities through horticulture.

Certificates and prizes were presented to the winners by Kelhousedeü Miachieo, SDHO Chiephobozou, and R Chumben Patton, AHO Kohima. The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Kevilekho Usou, DHO Tseminyu.

The programme was chaired by Neisetuonuo Debbie, Deputy Director, Horticulture Department. This year, the Floral Galleria (Flower Show-cum-Competition) recorded 81 participants with 193 exhibits, while Kaleidoscope (Exhibition-cum-Competition of Fruits, Vegetables, Spices, and Exotic & Indigenous Vegetables and Spices) saw 133 participants showcasing 270 exhibits.
