Programme on Computerized Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies held at Mon

A programme on Computerized Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies Ltd was organized by the office of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies Mon on October 10 at DRDA Conference Hall, Mon.

Commissioner & Secretary, IPR and Cooperation Department Government of Nagaland, Orenthung Lotha thanked the members of all the Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies for attending the programme. He explained the UN declaration of the International Year of Cooperation 2025, and said that the objectives of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 is to raise public awareness of cooperative contributions to sustainable development, promote growth and development by strengthening cooperative eco-systems, advocate for supportive legal frameworks, and inspire leadership by engaging youth and fostering new leaders in the cooperative movement.

Mon being the highest populated district in Nagaland, he encouraged them to lead the other districts in carrying out their assigned duties. He also explained about the purpose and objectives of computerization, efficiency and transparency, common platform, expanded services, and financial inclusion. He also said that computerization will help in faster loan delivery, Transparent Operations, Digital Rural Banking and empowerment through Information.

Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Kohima, Nagaland, Vikosielie Nagi gave a keynote address on Computerized Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies. He showed gratitude to the Commissioner & Secretary, Orenthung Lotha for his initiative to reach out to the grassroots level. He encouraged them to take advantage of computers and work hard to upgrade their societies.

Chief Manager of Cooperative Bank Mon, W Chemkai Konyak said that cooperative banks cannot run without cooperative societies. They are the owners of the Cooperative Bank. He encouraged them to build self confidence, strong commitment and decision. He also appealed to avail and return the loan in time.

Sub. RCS Mon, Tsijungse Sangtam, briefed on the development and working system of the society.

The programme was chaired by Assistant Registrar of cooperative Societies, Mon. Out of 350 Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies, nine Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies were selected and  trained for Computerization.
