Criticizing the Nagaland Government over the suspension of services under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) and associated health insurance programs in some hospitals across Nagaland, the Rising People’s Party (RPP) has said that the promised benefits of the CMHIS remain a distant dream.

In a press release, the Party has remarked that the suspension of treatment services in some major hospitals is a “damning reflection of the systemic inefficiency, mismanagement, and utter negligence exhibited by the Ruling Government” and demanded accountability from the government for its “gross dereliction of duty”.

The RPP has claimed that despite the monthly deduction of ₹400 from the salaries of over 1.2 lakh government employees and pensioners, citizens and government employees were “witnessing a complete collapse of services, with hospitals forced to suspend treatment alleging unpaid dues.” This is a grave betrayal of public trust and a blatant violation of the commitments made by the government, it added.

The Party said that it is the citizens including the government employees who are unfairly bearing the brunt of this monumental failure and deprived of essential health services, while the government stands mute. The RPP has called on the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary to “step forward and publicly account for the glaring shortcomings and catastrophic lapses in the system” stating that the people deserve transparency, answers, and urgent action, not evasions and excuses.
