Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor for School Education and SCERT today issued a statement labeled in the ‘Interest of Public Safety’ with regard to the recent row over his controversial statement. Dr. Yhome stated that his comments was never intended to hurt anyone and further urged ‘discernment and understanding’.

The recent quagmire over the Advisor’s statement that ‘Ao and Sumi (amongst more) may not be entrenched into Primary Teacher employment for the next ten years’ transpired from a public consultative event and thereafter social simulation.

According to Dr. Yhome, the statistical analysis presented is interpretive of the facts and figures under the Department of School Education-in tandem with Service Rules 2017 and the plausible variant of linguistic teachers as envisaged under National Education Policy 2020.

“The exercise is in no way avowed to selectively deny opportunities to any tribe or tribes or qualified youth. To those who feel that my opinion is stochastically straddled to influence employment latitudes, let me assure you that public policies are not formulated to be biased. In the labyrinth of our linguistic diversity, which also celebrates our identities, it was never my intention to hurt anyone with the use of proper nouns. I urge your discernment and understanding,” appealed Dr. Yhome.

The Advisor also highlighted the fact that a peaceful and honourable education solution is rarely discussed despite the awareness that this path can help realize Nagaland’s aspiration for the good life and a state of exception.

“A just distribution based on respect and collective care is vital for the present and imperative for the future,” asserted Dr. Yhome.

The positive public consciousness that emerged from the row was acknowledged by the Advisor who expressed optimism for inclusive engagements in bettering the lives of our children.
