Pughoboto SDPDB deliberates on enrollment of students, implementation of TAMS and adoption of schools

The Pughoboto Sub-division held its SDPDB meeting on May 17 with ADC Pughoboto, Tiameren Chang chairing the meeting at DB Hall, ADC Office, Pughoboto, informed a DIPR report. The meeting started with a welcome address from the chairman and words of appreciation to the members for the efficient and successful conduct of the last 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024. A review of the last SDPDB Meeting was conducted briefly wherein the various working committees required for the inauguration of Sub-Divisional Block Offices were discussed and the tentative inauguration date is proposed in the month of October 2024.

The meeting agendas recommended by the SDPDB included construction of District Election Office, Pughoboto at the new Administrative Head Quarter Complex, Construction of the Office room/chamber of the Chairman, SDPDB Pughoboto , Construction of SDEO Quarter, Replacement of Electrical Post at Pughoboto, Construction of Agri Marketing Complex and Agri Demonstration cum Training Centre at Pughoboto.

Stating that all the state government schools in the subdivision are well covered by internet/mobile connectivity and teachers’ attendance is crucial for bringing quality education, SDEO H Mughaho Jimo called for implementation of TAMS in Pughoboto subdivision. The House recommended seeking for approval to the concerned Department for implementation of TAMS in Pughoboto subdivision.

The roadmap to adoption of schools by the members of SDPDB was proposed by the SDEO in the last meeting was again put forward to the house. It was stated that MLA Dr. Sukhato A Sema has adopted two schools viz. GHS, Ighanumi and GHS, Lazami, and a volleyball court is already in progress in the latter after the visit to the school by the MLA. The chairman assured full support of the House to the program and asked the list of remaining schools be provided by the Department to the members. Meanwhile, the rationalization of teachers within Pughoboto Sub-Division which was proposed by the SDEO is to be taken up in the next SDPDB meeting.

SDO (C) R. Daniel Angami raised the matter of the low rate of enrolment in Pughoboto Government Higher Secondary School and what steps to be taken to draw in more admissions. The Chairman conveyed to the House that the school already has highly qualified teachers and it calls for concerted efforts of Public Administration, Town / Village Councils and the general public to create feasible environment and infrastructure for the students to enable their education.
