Residents of Pungro village on June 30 came together to take proactive responsibility for their local government school, GMS Pungro Village, by addressing dust issues in the classrooms to foster a healthier and more effective learning environment for both students and teachers.
The school has been facing challenges with overcrowded classrooms due to a surge in student enrollment.
Putting effort, the community refurbished a classroom measuring 70 feet in length and 20 feet in width, laying down concrete flooring. Additionally, two staircases—each 10 feet long and 10 feet wide were constructed. This was made possible through generous contributions from individuals, local groups, and various organisations, with 95 volunteers wholeheartedly participating in the initiative.
The contributors included the School Management Committee, Pungro Village Council, Pungro Village Baptist Church, NVG Pungro Village, teaching staff, the Pungro Village Students’ Union, as well as numerous individuals and well-wishers.
