PWD (Roads & Bridges) minister G Kaito Aye on Tuesday informed the state assembly that the physical progress of PMGSY III is 17 % and the financial progress stands at 6%.

The minister was replying to a starred question raised by National People’s Party (NPP) MLA Nuklutoshi in the ongoing session of the assembly on Tuesday asking to know the status of the projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) package-III.

Minister Aye also stated that out of 43 projects, the timeline for completion of 38 projects is September 2025, and 5 projects is March 2026. He said though the timeline is not over yet, the projects will not be completed within the original timeline of 18 months. The timeline has been revised to March 2026 by Ministry of Rural Development, he added.

Citing the reasons for delay in completion of the projects, Aye stated that it was due to non-payment of contractor bills from March 2024 to April 2025 as OMMAS (Online Management Monitoring and Accounting System) was locked by the Ministry.

While citing the difficulties in executing of works including the monsoon, minister Aye however assured that the department is giving its best efforts trying to navigate the challenges and will do their best to complete the projects at the earliest.
