The Queen Mary Higher Secondary School emerged victorious in the Quartet Competition organized by the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Mokokchung Unit. The event, held at the Queen Mary Higher Secondary School Auditorium on Thursday showcased the talents and resilience of students from various private schools from the district.

Dr Anungla, President of ANPSA Mokokchung Unit, set the tone for the competition in her welcome address. She emphasized the importance of holistic education, quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s words: “All-round development of a child, body, mind, and soul.” Dr Anungla stressed that education extends beyond textbooks, encouraging students to engage in co-curricular activities and develop life skills.

Addressing the audience, Dr Anungla highlighted the inevitability of facing challenges and crises in life, both as children and adults. She urged students to embrace failures as learning opportunities and find ways to compete positively with others. “Confidence without overconfidence is the key,” she emphasized, encouraging students not to procrastinate and to persevere in all their endeavours.

Six schools participated in the competition, showcasing their diverse talents and creativity. Queen Mary Higher Secondary School secured the top position, with Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School and Straightway Higher Secondary School earning the 1st and 2nd runner-up positions, respectively. These winning teams will advance to the State Level Competition scheduled for October 7, 2023, in Kohima.

Model Hr. Sec. School, Mokokchung, delivered an energetic performance titled “Feel the Beat,” while Children School, Mokokchung, wowed the audience with a Bollywood Medley. Rev. Fr. Sajimon, Convenor of the Quartet Competition and Principal of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, expressed his gratitude in the vote of thanks, and Sentila, Principal of Straightway Higher Secondary School, pronounced the benediction.
