As the Nagaland leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra came to a close, Rahul Gandi on Thursday thanked the Nagaland Congress for organising the yatra well in the State. He also said that the yatra received a good response from the Naga people and hoped for the same cooperation and loving support in Assam.

The Congress leader addressing the public at Amguri, Assam where NPCC President S Supongmeren Jamir handed over the National Flag to Assam Congress President Bhupen Kumar Borah. After halting at Tuli in Mokokchung district on Wednesday night, the yatra made its way to Nagaland and Assam border on Thursday morning.

The Party said that Rahul Gandhi had listened to the concerns of the people of Nagaland and will continue to raise them.

From Amguri, the yatra moved to Jorhat where, addressing the public, Rahul Gandhi committed to addressing the biggest issue of the country – unemployment. “GST and demonetization destroyed small and medium industries and the result was that youth are not getting employment,” he claimed, stating that this is injustice against the youth.

Congress promises that we will give you government jobs and will provide employment to the youth by reopening small and medium industries, Gandhi assured the large gathering.

Earlier in a press conference, Assam Congress President Bhupen Kumar Borah alleged Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma of organising one day central programs in every place the Bharat Jodo Yatra will be stopping.

He also said that in Assamese tradition, respect and hospitality is given to every guest coming to their land, even if the guest is the enemy, but the CM tried to present obstacles. He also said that today, when women attending a BJP function in Jorhat ran out to greet Rahul Gandhi and presented him with ‘Gamocha’, it proved that the people do not accept Sarma as CM.
