Rajasthan State Foundation Day was celebrated at Lok Bhavan Kohima on April 11, which was graced by Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor extended his warm greetings to the people of Rajasthan and members of the Rajasthan community residing in Nagaland.
Highlighting the rich cultural and historical legacy of Rajasthan, the Governor described the state as the “Land of Kings,” symbolizing courage, honour and royal heritage. He referred to its iconic forts, vibrant traditions, folk arts and the enduring legacy of valour represented by figures such as Maharana Pratap.
The Governor remarked that celebrating Rajasthan Divas in Nagaland holds special significance, as both states, though geographically distant, share deep-rooted traditions, strong community values and a spirit of resilience.
He emphasized that such occasions reflect the true essence of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, fostering unity, cultural exchange and mutual understanding among the people of the country.
He expressed appreciation for the Rajasthan community in Nagaland for their contributions towards strengthening social harmony, friendship and economic activities in the state. He noted that events like these provide an opportunity to celebrate India’s diversity while reinforcing a shared national identity.
Encouraging the youth, the Governor urged them to embrace the ideals of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat by learning about the diverse cultures, languages and traditions of different states, thereby becoming ambassadors of national unity.

The Governor concluded by calling for renewed commitment towards national integration, fraternity and cultural pride and wished for continued harmony and unity among all communities.
Delivering the welcome address, Joint Secretary to the Governor, Fiirhesie Nyuwi, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the occasion.
The programme featured a series of vibrant cultural performances showcasing the rich traditions of Rajasthan, including dances by Teej Group, Navratri Group, Holi Group and Diwali Group, along with a traditional Chang Dhamal performance.
