The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, IAS has issued an advisory to the public in regard to the installation of new conductor wires on the Dimapur-Imphal transmission line.

Referring to the letter by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited – letter vide No. NEDM/TL/112 dated 12.09.2022 – the DC has informed all concerned that the work package of “Reconductoring of 132kV Single Circuit Dimapur – Imphal Transmission Line with I-ITLS Panther Conductor” has been completed.

The line is scheduled to be energized anytime from 12 September.

The line passes through Lungwirm – Chümoukedima – Medziphema – Zubza – Kohima – Mao – Senapati – Kangpokpi – Yurembam – Imphal.

The DC has advised the general public not to climb on the tower or touch the live conductor as this may result in fatal injuries.
