Day 5 of the 67th Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) Meet continued to showcase record-breaking feats and fierce competition, with T Khel strengthening its lead in the overall medal standings while P Khel dominated the indoor events.
As of 8:30 pm on Wednesday, T Khel remained firmly atop the medal table with 20 gold, 17 silver and six bronze medals. P Khel followed with 11 gold, five silver and five bronze medals, while D Khel had secured six gold, four silver and eight bronze medals. L Khel stood at four gold, 16 silver and five bronze medals.
The overall medal tally across all khels reached 107, including 41 gold, 42 silver and 24 bronze medals. With only 12 gold medals yet to be decided, the competition has entered a crucial stage.
T Khel once again asserted its dominance on the athletics track, setting new records in several events. In the men’s 400 metres, Meguozotuo Solo of T Khel claimed gold with a meet-record time of 50.97 seconds. The women’s 400 metres saw a clean sweep by T Khel, with Rüduolhounuo Belho winning gold in a new record time of 1:02.35 minutes, followed by Menenuo Belho, who took silver with a record-breaking 1:05.26 minutes.
T Khel’s supremacy was further evident in the relay events, as the men’s 4×100-metre team clocked a new meet record of 43.83 seconds, while the women’s team also set a new record with a time of 54.66 seconds.

Indoor events, however, were decisively led by P Khel. On Wednesday alone, P Khel bagged eight gold and two silver medals in indoor disciplines. The khel completed a clean sweep in badminton, winning both the men’s and women’s titles, and repeated the achievement in table tennis by claiming gold in both categories.

Meanwhile, Basketball (men and women), Volleyball (men and women), Cricket (men) and Football (men) are set to progress to the finals at DBHSS, IG Stadium and Meriema Village Ground, respectively.
With athletics records continuing to tumble and most indoor events concluded, the final days of the 67th KVSA Meet promise an exciting finish as the khels compete for the remaining medals and overall honours.
