In an effort to promote awareness on HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) among young people, the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), under the aegis of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), organised the District Level Red Run (Marathon Race) in Wokha on July 29, creating platform not just for promoting physical fitness, but also for sensitising youth on critical health issues and encouraging proactive choices for a safer and healthier future.

The event was held as part of the Youth Fest campaign, a nationwide initiative targeting adolescents and youth. A total of 84 participants in the age group of 17 to 25 years took part in the race, which was conducted in both male and female categories.

The marathon was flagged off by James Ezung, District Welfare Officer, from Zero Point, and concluded at Niropen Petrol Pump. In his brief address, the officer encouraged the participants to maintain a healthy lifestyle and abstain from drug use, while also emphasising the importance of awareness and prevention of HIV and STIs.
