The registration for the Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme (CMLIS) was successfully launched in the Tongdentsuyong Ward of Mokokchung on 29th August 2024. The initiative was led by the family of Councillor Imkongsanen Imchen and is set to conclude on 30th August 2024.
The registration process is being actively assisted by the 24th Angetyongpang, NDPP CMHIS team, under the leadership of team leader Pangerzulu Jamir. On the first day of the registration drive, a total of 166 individuals were successfully registered for the scheme.
The Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme, launched on 15th August 2024 on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, offers a life insurance coverage of ₹2 lakh for breadwinners and an accidental insurance coverage of ₹2 lakh each for the primary breadwinner and up to three family members in the event of accidental death or disability.
To be eligible under the general category, any family member aged 18-50 years can be designated as the breadwinner. For government servants, who are automatically considered as primary breadwinners, the age eligibility is between 18 and 60 years.

Registration for CMHIS beneficiaries and government employees can be verified online at cmlis.nagaland.gov.in with a verification deadline of September 5, 2024. Non-covered families can register through the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) for rural areas or through the offices of the DC/ADC/SDO/EAC for urban areas, with a registration deadline of 15th September 2024.
The CMLIS registration drive in Tongdentsuyong Ward aims to provide comprehensive insurance coverage and ensure that all eligible families are enrolled in the scheme.
