In a momentous ceremony, the Rejusanger Longzung (roughly translated as Stone monolith of the Students) symbolizing the unity and achievement of the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), was on January 5 officially unveiled by Anenla T Sato, Commissioner & Secretary, marking the successful hosting of the 69th General Conference. The monolith was unveiled at the Keyi Meta Park, Akhoya village under Mokokchung District.
Erected by the Akhoya Students’ Union, the monolith comprises seven sculpted stones, representing AKM and its six subordinating ranges in the Ao land. Commissioner Sato, the Chief Guest, urged the student community to provide visionary leadership, emphasizing the importance of carrying forward the wisdom of their predecessors for the betterment of Naga society.

Sato highlighted the necessity for government officials and MLAs to heed public voices for effective innovation and planning, stating that public aspirations are crucial for shaping the future and vision of the Nation. She emphasized that in the contemporary world, professional degrees coupled with practical skills are essential, urging students to focus on fields that offer both personal and societal benefits.
Guest of honor, AKM President Lanutoshi Aier, expressed gratitude to the people of Akhoya for their sacrifices in ensuring the success of the conference. Aier emphasized that maintaining the AKM monoliths is a collective responsibility, belonging to all the people present at the event.
