Wokha: Police and village council rules out foul play in cse

The mortal remains of a missing person was found on 30 June 2023 at around 3:30 pm, 1 kilometre away from Aree Village in Wokha district. The deceased, identified as Ponathung Z Jami of Pangti Village, had been missing since 2 June from Pangti village and last seen at New Aree Village.

According to sources, it is learned that the remains were found by two persons of Aree Village who were out for hunting who informed the police department as well as the villagers about discovery.

The police then, along with the family members of the deceased, went to that area and recovered the Pan card, Aadhaar Card, ATM card, Voter ID card on the remains.

The remains were retrieved on Saturday morning and after thorough checking, they were handed over to the family members and laid to rest.

The police and the village council had ruled out foul play in the case as during their search operation nothing suspicious was noticed.
