Revenant FC, the formidable football team, has once again showcased their dominance by clinching the championship title for the third consecutive season in the Mokokchung Friday League (MFL) for players aged 35 and above. The thrilling 10-week football tournament, featuring six teams, concluded today at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex with Revenant FC emerging as the triumphant victors.
The MFL Season 3 witnessed fierce competition among the participating teams, including Revenant FC, New Ecclesia, Senso FC, Wasang FC, Terokroker FC, and Trebuchet FC. However, Revenant FC’s sheer determination and skill propelled them to yet another resounding triumph, successfully defending their title and solidifying their position as the team to beat.

In a brief closing ceremony, ADC Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the MFL, commending their efforts in creating a platform that inspires the youth not only in Mokokchung but also beyond. Humtsoe expressed hope that the younger generation would be motivated to pursue sports and games as a profession, ultimately fostering unity and growth within communities.
Throughout the league series, Revenant FC showcased their unwavering prowess, consistently outperforming their opponents. In recognition of their outstanding performance, Revenant FC was crowned champions for the third consecutive time. New Ecclesia FC, with their commendable display of skills, secured the runners-up position, proving to be formidable opponents in the tournament.
Several individual players were also acknowledged for their exceptional contributions during the tournament. 56 years old Akangmeren of Wasang FC was honoured as the recipient of the Individual Prizes. Takosangba of Trebuchet FC was recognized as the Best Defender, while Talilepba of Revenant FC earned the title of Best Goalkeeper. Moakaba of Revenant FC showcased his remarkable goal-scoring ability, accumulating an impressive 14 goals and earning him the accolade of Highest Goal Scorer. Moatemsu of New Ecclesia was rightfully crowned as the Man of the Tournament, displaying exceptional skills and sportsmanship. Terokroker FC was awarded the Fair Play Award, highlighting their commitment to maintaining the spirit of the game.
