Kohima: RPP condemns ‘divide and rule policy’ of NDPP-BJP coalition government

Amid the commotion in some towns in Eastern Nagaland on Tuesday over to some candidates filing for nominations, mostly from the NDPP and BJP, to contest in the forthcoming urban body elections, the Rising People’s Party has accused Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio of having “orchestrated the latest outrage whereby the writ of ENPO was undermine.”

“Mr. Rio has fooled the ENPO people twice, doubly aided by his rubber stamp president Chingwang Konyak”, the RPP alleged.

It claimed that the State Government had earlier delayed giving its opinion on the Draft Working Paper (DWP) on Frontier Nagaland Territory although the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had directed it to do so before 31st December 2023. “An enraged ENPO exposed the diabolic policy of CM Neiphiu Rio through various press statements and decided to abstain from the LS polls which was historic,” the RPP stated.

Further, the Party accused the NDPP President and that a former talk team member for FNT of choosing to betray his own people by not restraining the candidates from filling nominations.

“The Rising People’s Party condemns the divide and rule policy of the NDPP-BJP coalition government whereby the ENPO has been utterly humiliated and made to lose credibility in the eyes of the Naga people”, the Party stated.
