Rio recalls Rano at Kruse’s campaign kick-off programme; Calls for another history to be made

Campaign kick-off programme for Salhoutuonuo Kruse, NDPP candidate for 8th Western Assembly Constituency was launched on Thursday at Khonoma community hall, Terhotsiese, Kohima district. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was present at the programme to support the candidate.

In his address, Rio recalling Rano Shaiza, the first woman Member of Parliament (MP) Lok Sabha for the state, who was also from Khonoma village, challenged the people that history should be repeated this time round for the NLA seat.

The CM also exhorted the party worker of the Western Angami Assembly Constituency that privilege comes with responsibility in the epoch making.

Rio further stated that the party had given ticket to Salhoutuonuo Kruse for 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency (AC) and Hekani Jakhalu for 3 Dimapur-III AC with the view to advocate the message of women empowerment and gender equality.

He maintained that in the forthcoming 14th NLA general election, the NDPP party should create history to encourage and motivate women from all walks of life adding that there are too many things that are impending that also need women participation.

He admitted that the performance of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) was lesser to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in terms of percentage of the seat sharing ratio during the 2018 general election, letting the BJP have better say and considering the BJP leading at the centre, Rio challenged the NDPP candidates and workers to do better in the 2023 elections.

He called for collective effort of all party workers, to keep their guard strong at all times till the last fight.

NDPP candidate, Salhoutuonuo Kruse shared her vision for equal infrastructural development and representation of urban and rural areas, youth and women empowerment, skill development and employment, to improve the quality of life the people by enhancing good governance, peace and security and to create a model constituency.

She appreciated the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the NDPP party for investing on women empowerment and assured that she would work towards the fulfilment of the same.
