Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan on Saturday said that the Central Government is focused on youth empowerment and rural development, citing initiatives under VB- GRAMG, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, self-help groups and skill development programmes, aimed at promoting dignified self-reliance.
Addressing the 18th Tranche of Rozgar Mela, organized by the Assam Rifles at the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, Dimapur for the newly selected youths appointed to various Central Government organizations, Paswan congratulated the 366 candidates who received appointment letters on the occasion. He said that the appointment letters symbolized not merely employment but the trust and responsibility bestowed upon the youth by the nation. He urged the newly appointed candidates to uphold integrity, discipline and a strong spirit of public service.
Highlighting the participation of youths in the Assam Rifles, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and other Central Armed Police Forces, Paswan emphasized their crucial role in safeguarding the country’s unity, security and peace. He also expressed happiness over the selection of a large number of women candidates, calling it a reflection of the government’s commitment to women-led development.
Paswan stated that the Northeast has emerged as a key driver of national development and noted significant improvements in connectivity and infrastructure in Nagaland. He reiterated the government’s resolve to ensure that no youth is deprived of opportunities and that a strong and awakened youth strengthens democracy and accelerates national progress. He expressed confidence that the service, integrity, honesty and dedication of the youth would lead India towards becoming a developed, secure and self-reliant nation.

The Minister also referred to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and called upon the newly appointed youths to contribute actively to nation-building with honesty, discipline and sensitivity towards citizens.
Commissioner & Secretary, Rural Development, Thavaseelan K, IAS, senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, District Administration and other dignitaries were also present.
The event was connected live with the national Rozgar Mela programme, during which the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi launched the Rozgar Mela and addressed the appointees across the country. The Rozgar Mela was organized simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, during which around 61,000 appointment letters were issued nationwide.
