The Rising People’s Party (RPP) has urged the Nagaland Government to increase the Traveling Allowance and Dearness Allowance (TA/DA) for jawans to deployed to Jharkhand and Maharashtra for election duties in the month of November 2024.

In a press release, the RPP noted the “dishonourable” conduct of the State Government during the 2024 Lok Sabha election when the jawans from Nagaland “crisscrossed the entire country in the utterly unbearable Indian summer were paid the paltry amount of Rs. 550/- as TA/DA with some even losing their lives due to heatstroke.”

It urged the Government not to “repeat such mistakes again” and called for increasing the TA/DA to ₹1000 at the minimum.
