The Rising Peoples Party has issued a formal caution regarding the unauthorized and improper use of its name in Right to Information (RTI) applications and requested all government departments, public institutions, and relevant authorities to undertake due diligence in verifying the authenticity of any RTI applications that bears the Party’s name.

“While the Party remains steadfast in its support of transparency, accountability, and the principles enshrined in the RTI Act, any fraudulent invocation of its name for such filings will be met with unequivocal legal action,” the RPP stated in a press release.

It also warned that it would initiate appropriate legal proceedings, including the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) under applicable laws against those found responsible for this misappropriation.

The misuse of the RTI tool may not only undermines the Party’s reputation but also the transparency framework that is vital to good governance, it said.
