The Rising People’s Party (RPP) has lambasted Centre’s Interlocutor for Naga peace talks, AK Mishra, accusing him of orchestrating “politically unproductive” and “deceptive” visits to Nagaland without delivering any tangible outcome.
Terming is repeated visits to Nagaland as “pointless”, the RPP in a statement issued today, said that Mishra’s frequent visit to Nagaland have failed to generate any substantive progress in resolving the long-standing Indo-Naga political issue and accused him of offering nothing but “false hope”.
“An astute person like Mr. Mishra should excuse himself from making monthly trips to the state just to excite some gullible minds because neither he nor the GoI has any intention of resolving the Naga issue,” the party said.
It further alleged that Mishra’s “worthless trips” to the state also “wastes the meager resources of the state”, while the entire machinery is at his beck and call every time he comes to the state.
Asking Mishra not to create the impression that he is “doing something”, the RPP also criticized the so-called “Common Execution Plan”, apparently to integrate the Framework Agreement (FA) and Agreed Position (AP), which it said is once again “exciting the factions” but the general public is “amused”.
Recalling the past developments in the peace talks, the RPP accused the former Interlocutor, RN Ravi for “throwing the Framework Agreement into the dustbin” and conjuring the Agreed Position to create internal divisions within the Naga society.

The party claimed that RN Ravi’s tactical declaration in 2019 that “Naga peace talks is officially over” was a masterstroke, which completely divided the Naga society.
“For the next 8 years, Naga CSOs, factions and intellectuals fought over the cakes called FA and AP while the clever monkey/s watched until Mr. Mishra conjured another trick, now integrating the FA and AP!,” it stated and concluded by accusing Mishra of mastering “the art of doing something and nothing at the same time” to keep him seemingly busy till he is replaced by another very busy man.
