The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland, Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland was awarded the Best Performing SAMETI by the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. SAMETI Nagaland was recognised for training the highest number of rural youths and effectively implementing the Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) scheme during 2023-24, informed an update by the Department.
The STRY scheme, a skill-based initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, is implemented by SAMETIs in association with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. It aims to provide employable skill-based training to rural youths aged 18-40 years in agricultural and allied vocational sectors.

The award was received by Dr. Watimongla Jamir, Director SAMETI and Principal, IETC, during the National Workshop on Extension Strategies to Promote Skill Development of Rural Youth held at MANAGE, Hyderabad on 11th-12th July 2024.
