Launching of Aspirational District Programme and the Aspirational Block Programme of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 was held at DPDB Conference Hall, Kiphire on January 30, with ADC Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam as the Special Guest.
Speaking at the launching program, Longdiba Sangtam said that Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 was recorded significant improvements in service delivery through focused and time – bound interventions in other districts. Therefore, he said that Kiphire Aspirational District and Block had to actively participate and contribute more in overall progress through strengthening outreach by the frontline workers and improved community engagement.
Under Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0, Kiphire Aspirational Block will work towards saturation of some key indicators like related to health and nutrition, education and allied. These include regular supplementary nutrition for children under ICDS, at Anganwadi centres, provision of functional toilets and drinking water, availability of adequate girl’s toilet facilities in schools and vaccination of bovine animals.
The Abhiyan is expected to strengthen grassroots governance, sustain earlier gains and accelerate inclusive development in the block. And to ensure inter – departmental convergence, proper documentation of activities and timely submission of progress reports.

He also said the district is so fortunate to have been selected as Aspirational District in the year 2018 and also the Aspirational Block. This Aspiration has been selected basing on the most far flung district in the country and the most underdeveloped.
Earlier, Chief Medical Officer, District Education Officer, DPO, Social Welfare Department, Chief Veterinary Officer, and Area Coordinator NSRLM, RD, Khongsa also spoke in the program.
Invocation was pronounced by Khiungmong, HA, DC office Kiphire and the welcome address by Takatemjen Pongen, EAC & Nodal Officer, ADP/ABP Kiphire. Closing remarks was delivered by Kato T. Aomi, EAC Kiphire, while Ningsangwu, ABP Fellow Kiphire chaired the program.
