Sampoornata Abhiyan for Akuhaito Aspirational Block launched in Zunheboto

A programme was held for the launch of Sampoornata Abhiyan for Akuhaito Aspirational Block at DC Conference Hall, Zunheboto on 4th July, 2024 with Yugal Joshi, Advisor Water Resource to Niti Aayog India as Guest of Honour, informed DIPR.

In his address, the advisor expressed gratitude to speak about Sampoornata Abhiyan Aspirational Block in Zunheboto and thanked the DC and his officers for the opportunity. He stated that Aspirational District Program started in January 2018 with three main objectives:

– to focus on health and nutrition,

– on agriculture and water resource and education, and also financial inclusion in skill development and

– infrastructure.

The Advisor asserted that the Central Government has launched the Sampoornata Abhiyan with the aim of improving service delivery and governance level in the most backward districts and blocks in the country.

To achieve the set development goals in such identified areas, developmental activities are to be promoted by Niti Ayog by determining 06 indicators. This also includes Araria district, Bihar identified under the Aspirational District Program run by Niti Ayog and Palasi, the only block of the district identified under the Aspirational Block Program. Under the Sampoornata Abhiyan, Niti Ayog has assessed the availability of text books in Secondary Schools.

India and Pakistan are now known to be the diabetic capital of the world due to its growing concern of hypertension and diabetes. Therefore, the main objective of the program is to bring the desired improvement by creating awareness and encourage individuals above 30 years to have a mandatory medical check-up to be up to date on their health status.

Earlier, the program was chaired by Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, Nodal officer and EAC Atoizu, welcome address and administration of pledge was delivered by Deputy Commissioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS. Akuhaito block presentation was done by Kivikali Achumi.

Short speeches were proposed by Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, Dr. Akaho Sema, Dy. CMO Zunheboto and the President Sumi Hoho, Nikheto Zhimo.  Moplin M Phon delivered the vote of thanks.
