Minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineer, P Bashangmongba Chang, graced the felicitation programme of the Nagaland University CBCS Toppers held at Multi Purpose Hall, Sao Chang College, Tuensang as the Special Guest on July 18.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister thanked the team led by the Principal and faculty for inviting him to give the honour to the successful students. He stated that Sao Chang College is one of the oldest colleges in Nagaland, which has produced many gazetted officers, tall leaders, social workers, politicians, lawyers and entrepreneurs over the years. He added that it is a moment of pride and joy as Sao Chang College has 7 outstanding students who have secured top positions in the Nagaland University Examination 2025.
This significant achievement has not only brought glory to the institution but also set a testament of dedication, discipline and hard work of the students as well as the unwavering support of the parents and teaching faculty, he stated.
The Minister also said that success is not merely measures by marks but by the perseverance and purpose to carry forward with consistent effort and positive mindset, and exhorted the students that there are thousands of students making their graduation every year and it has become the most challenging issue for aspirant to get Government job, and Government job is not the only means of survival.

He said the State Government, having understood the unemployment problem faced by the educated youth, has provided many platforms such as the Industrial Development Authority of Nagaland, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, which provides a string of business establishments.
The Minister also thanked the teaching faculty of Sao Chang College for their tireless dedication, sincere efforts and commitment to impart knowledge and shaping the mind of the students, which clearly manifested in the recently declared NU Result.
Other highlights of the function were a welcome address delivered by Dr Lanurenla, Principal SCC, a short speech by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, a special prayer by Tonchingsangla women leaders PCB 3rd NAP BN Church, and a vote of thanks by Dr. Lal Veda Chandra Kumar V/P SCC.
The programme was chaired by Akyuba Sangtam, Assistant. Professor SCC. The Minister was accompanied by the Members of the District Planning and Development Board, Tuensang, Tribal Leaders and the student community.
