The Saptiqa Area Students’ Union has served the Department of School Education (DoSE) a 14 days ultimatum to resolve the issue of two government-run schools that have been functioning without Science and Math teachers for two years.

STKK President, Jevi Kinni Hesso and General Secretary Pito Swu, in a press release, stated that the union was taking the step in the interest of the teaching fraternity and the student community. They expressed disappointment that despite repeated appeals, DoSE is yet to take action on its demands to ‘Revoke the transfer of teachers with post’ or ‘Replace the teachers on their stead’.

The students’ body urged DoSE to redress the issues at the lone Government High School Saptiqa and Usutomi Government Middle School. Saptiqa Area Students’ Union further stated that it will be compelled to take “democratic measures against the inaction of the Department”.
