SCEB announces temporary closure of Nsonji Lake, Tseminyu; conveys condolences to bereaved family

In view of the recent drowning incident that happened at Nsonji lake on the 30th June 2024, whereby the dead body was recovered only on the 1st July 2024 by the State Disaster Relief Force, the Sendenyu Community Ecotourism Board conveyed its deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of Lt. Shwensinlo Semp of Terogvunyu Village for the unfortunate incident and sudden loss of a precious soul.

The Board also conveyed its sincere appreciation to the District Administration and SDRF for their support and relentless service in recovering the dead body.

Further, the SCEB has notified to the general public that visitors are requested to refrain from visiting Nsonji lake park with immediate effect, until further notice. This has been necessitated in order to enable the management to establish necessary safety measures for the public.
