On the occasion of National Sports Day, celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand, a school-level Sports Debate Competition was conducted by CRPF 78 BN, Zubza, Kohima, in collaboration with Christian Mission School, Zubza, on August 30.

Second in Command, 78 Bn CRPF, R V Philip was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The debate competition was held to promote love for sports among youths and to create awareness about its importance for a healthy life. A total of 06 participants participated in the event, and participants were to speak alternately for and against the motion.

Speaking on the occasion, R V Philip highlighted the importance of sports in life and how they help build team spirit, leadership qualities, and improve health. He also noted that sports help face success and defeat equally.

The debate competition was held successfully, and prizes/certificates were distributed.
