The SchoolHouse-AlijoCademia: Augmenting Formal & Traditional Education Centre (AFATEC) was launched at Choklangan Village, Noklak today.
The centre was launched by Neema Pathak Broome, Coordinator, Conservation & Livelihoods Program Kalpavriksh and the South Asia coordinator for the ICCA Consortium, informed a press release by Khelia Cubicle Society, Choklangan. In his welcome address, Pakhiu 2nd Head GB, Choklangan Village thanked the Lemsachenlok team lead by Dr. Y. Nuklu Phom for their contribution since 2019 in launching of The Biodiversity Peace Corridor II and more. He urged the public to continue to advocate and support his noble deeds for the village.
Dr. Y. Nuklu Phom in the collaboration speech said that the mission objective is a community initiative to enable the students develop the habit to study. He thanked and asked the villagers to support the Khelia Cubicle Society (KCS) in the maintenance of the school house. While it is not a new initiative, Phom acknowledged the venture undertaken for the students’ community. The school house project is not a government agency funding but it is an input involvement from Lemsachenlok society in collaboration with Khelia Cubicle Society, Choklangan. Notebooks were also distributed to the students.
Neema Pathak Broome in her launching speech spoke on the importance of education with wisdom as a tool and weapon for a better change. She urged and challenge the youth to be a beacon of participation in the preservation and awareness of their flora and fauna. She also encouraged the villagers to generate self sustenance livelihood with love, compassion and unity among one another.

Response from the students taken by Thangsoi M, Executive Chairman, Choklangan Students Union where he expresses gratitude and appreciation to the LEMSACHENLOK and Khelia Cubicle Society for their initiative, added the press release. The Community in Restoration of Fallow and Abandon Land (CIROFAL) was also launched during the event.
The program was chaired by Langmong L, while the launching dedication prayer was pronounced by S. Kholi, Pastor, CBD and invocation by Neting Chiu, Associate Pastor, CBD.
The program was attended by the Councils, Church leaders, Student Leaders, Parents, Students and different organizations of the village. Benediction was pronounced by Chiliam M, Youth Pastor, CBD.
