The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra KVK, Tseminyu under Kohima Nagaland was held on February 6 at KVK Conference Hall, Tseminyu with DC Tseminyu, Japheth Woch as the special guest.
Speaking at the event, the DC emphasized the importance of convergence of Agri. & Allied Departments for carrying forward the proven technologies for horizontal expansion, climate resilient varieties, ITKs, Agri-entrepreneurship under Horticulture particularly for women led FPOs & SHGs in the District. He also applauded KVK Tseminyu & Kohima for doing a tremendous job in uplifting the livelihood of the farming community in both the districts.
The highlights of the SAC Achievement Reports 2025 and proposed Annual Action Plan 2026 were presented by Dr. Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Kohima, He deliberated on the KVKs function as vitals agricultural technology hubs, assessing, demonstrating and training farmers on location specific innovation for enhanced productivity, focusing on farm testing, frontline demonstration and capacity building for farmers, rural youth and extension workers.

On the occasion, a Video film on Advancing Agriculture through Innovation by KVK, Kohima was released by the Special Guest. Dr. Paihem Michui, ACTO (Veterinary & Animal Husbandry), Dr. Martina Shitri, ACTO (Genetics & Plant Breeding), Imtinuksung, SMS Soil & Conservation, Eliseni Tsopoe, SMS (Entomology) and Dr. Shisarenla Aier, SMS (Horticulture) also spoke at the meeting. During the interactive session, officials underscored the crucial role of KVK in addressing farmers’ challenges through scientific intervention and stressed the importance of interdepartmental collaboration to foster a holistic agricultural development in the District.
The meeting was attended by officials from line departments including District HoDs and Agri-Allied Departments, Women Club members of Tseminyu District alongside Progressive Farmers from both Tseminyu and Kohima District. Welcome address was proposed by the chairperson, Keneisezo Punyu, DAO Tseminyu. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sesenlo Kath, Technical Officer, KVK, Kohima.
