Search operations to recover the body of the youth who drowned in the Doyang Reservoir resumed on Sunday, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) beginning work at around 10:20 am.
Rescue personnel carried out systematic operations in the reservoir, deploying two deep divers and using techniques such as the spiralling boat method to create water movement in an effort to locate and retrieve the body.
Speaking to media persons, Assistant Commandant of the 12th NDRF Battalion, Itanagar, Phuleswar Lahon expressed concern over the inability to recover the body despite an entire day of intensive search efforts. He noted that the lack of a precise location of the incident has significantly hindered the operation.

Lahon further highlighted that the extreme cold of the water limited the duration divers could remain submerged, leading to the suspension of the operation after 4:00 pm. Additionally, the estimated depth of nearly 300 feet at the site has posed a serious challenge for the rescue teams.
Officials informed that search operations will resume again in the early hours of April 13. The NDRF has also urged the district administration to consider deploying an underwater drone to aid in the ongoing search efforts.
