Section 144 Cr.PC in place in Peren District till 26th June

Peren: Assembly of five or more persons and vehicular movement of non-essential nature prohibited

As precautionary measures to prevent occurrence of any untoward incidents and in the interest of maintaining peace and tranquility in all town council areas of Peren district during the schedule for the conduct of municipal and town council election 2024, the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Peren Vineet Kumar, IAS has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC of 1973, in the district.

The order which prohibits assembly of five or more persons and vehicular movement of non-essential nature will take effect from 5.00 PM of 25th June 2024 till 11.00 PM of 26th June 2024 across the Peren District.

The DC has further stated that the officials and staff of district administration, security personnel, magistrate on duty, medical personnel and person engaged in election duty, essentials services shall be exempted. And all movement of commercial vehicles goods/passengers or vehicles carrying essentials commodities, press & Media telecom services, medical emergencies shall also be exempted from above restricted DC Peren added

Any person violating Section 144 CrPC imposed in the district shall be prosecuted under relevant Section of the Law.  The DC also informed that as the notice cannot be served individually to all the concerned this order is hereby issued ex-parte.
