Seminar-cum-training on CSS PM FME held at Chozuba

A one-day seminar-cum-workshop on Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) – Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) was held at Vamuzo Memorial Hall Chozuba, Phek today.

The programme was organised by the District Industries Centre under the flagship of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.

With 44 registered participants in attendance, the seminar-cum-workshop was led by six resource persons who provided information on PMFE and the processes involved in food processing activities from registration and banking to food safety issues.

Cholzo Sophie, General Manager of DIC (Chozuba), delivered a lecture on the topic PMFE: Aims and Objectives, Processes and Procedures.

Kezhaletuo Khruomo, Inspector of Industries & District, gave a presentation on Support to Food Processing Unit and eligibility criteria.

Wekhrope Akami, Inspector of Industries & District, highlighted the Modalities and Sharing of Portal details and how to apply.

Peterson Pongener, Designated Officer (Food Safety), shared on Food Safety and FSSAI Registration.

Biplab Thakuria, Lead District Manager (Phek), gave a presentation on Banking Modalities and Processing of Applications in the Banks.

The last resource person Nezelu Nyekha, Chairperson of Chakesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS) (Eche Hilly Food Products), delivered a lecture on Experience Sharing on Food Processing.

Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) is a centrally sponsored scheme launched on 29 June 2020 by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.

The scheme aims to empower the existing individual micro-enterprises in the unorganised segment of the food processing industry and formalise the sector. The PM FME scheme is currently implemented in 35 states and union territories.

The department of Industries and Commerce has notified that more information for Food Processing Industries and financial support procedures are available in the official website and on YouTube.
