Seminar on Education on Women’s Rights and Women Empowerment held in Longleng

Longleng: Around 400 women from town and nearby villages participate in seminar

A seminar was conducted on ‘Education on Women’s Rights and Women Empowerment’ on 2 July 2023 at Tamlu Community Hall in Longleng.

At the seminar, Superintendent of Police, Longleng, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS spoke on cyber crimes, women related laws, livelihood skills training, campaign against drugs/intoxicants abuse, career guidance and environment protection by women teams.

Mano, President, Phom La Hoichen spoke on culture and traditions of the tribe and against drugs abuse while Akon, Officer-in-Charge, Women Police Station, Longleng spoke on various provisions on women’s rights and the empowerment avenues.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Chemnyu, Director, Christian Education and invocation was said by Evai, Women Pastor, Longleng Town Baptist Church.

All together 400 women from the town and nearby villages participated in the seminar.
