Seminar on New Subsidy Policy and GST Compliance held in Dimapur

A one-day seminar on New Subsidy Policy and GST Compliance, organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce, was held at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on May 23, informed DIPR .

Delivering the keynote address Director, Industries & Commerce, P. Tokugha Sema, shared in brief about the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI, 2024) launched on 9th March, 2024. He stated that this scheme is a central sector scheme under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, aimed to bolster industrial growth and create employment opportunities in the North Eastern states of India. In his address, he underscored the importance of identifying genuine entrepreneurs who are proactive to avail the different benefits provided by the government. He also highlighted on the general operational guidelines for the scheme laying special emphasis on the time-line for registration. He requested everyone present to disseminate the message of availing the opportunities provided to the genuine  entrepreneurs and to work collaboratively so that the UNNATI scheme is successfully implemented thereby leading to the overall socio economic development of the region.

The technical session was conducted by Saurav Sahewalla, Chartered Accountant, wherein he discussed at length the UNNATI scheme, 2024, highlighting on the salient features of the scheme, focus areas, eligibility criteria, incentive structures available for investors etc.

A question and answer session followed the technical session with CA Saurav Sahewalla and Ikheshe Kahoto, Inspector, Department of Industries and Commerce as the panelists.

The program was chaired by S Rarenbenla, Functional Manager, DIC, Dimapur while Yawelie Noudi, Deputy Director, Industries and Commerce delivered the concluding remarks.
